Strategic Direction

Callahan Roach Business Management Solutions was the first provider of flat rate manuals to the HVAC industry. Things have changed. The industry is different than it was in 1990, and your customers have changed as well. And technology has changed drastically. Service contractors exist in all sizes, from one truck entrepreneurs to large, multiple location corporations. PDA’s and laptops in the truck are becoming commonplace, but many contractors prefer the traditional manuals when presenting flat rate prices to the customer. Callahan Roach has shaped programs to meet everyone’s needs from small to large. Our energies will continue to be directed to provide products and services that match our customer’s needs and to do it with enough flexibility to make flat rate affordable to everyone. We sell solutions. These solutions include marketing, operations and financial consulting and training to our thousands of contractors across the USA.

History

“We Wrote the Book on Flat Rate Pricing”. Well, not the original book – the automobile industry has been selling service offering a flat rate price since the early 1930’s! We were the first to offer flat rate for sale to the HVAC industry. In the late 1980’s, our company founder, Mr. Jim Kimmons, a past air conditioning company owner and service manager for a Charlotte, North Carolina based service company perceived that selling their service on a flat rate basis would be easier for the technician to price service jobs, more profitable for the company, and better for the customer to be fully informed about the prices before the service repair was started. Mr. Kimmons was certainly right on target.

In 1990 Jim partnered with two highly regarded HVAC veterans, Mike Callahan and Al Roach to form Callahan Roach Products & Publications.

Callahan Roach became part of Group Maintenance America and was divested in 2000 and purchased by the current owners. Mike Hajduk is the President and Jeff Kelly is the CFO. Callahan Roach serves the HVAC, Plumbing and Swimming Pool trades.
