Aereon Solutions joins Intermec Partner Program
EVERETT, Wash., September 12, 2002 - Intermec Technologies Corp. has named Aereon Solutions of Princeton, N.J., to its Premier Solutions Partner Program. Combining Intermec wireless technology products and Aereon’s management software provides mobile workers the ability to quickly collect and process data during service and maintenance calls. This partnership allows service organizations to optimize operations by using remote data exchange capabilities between service technicians and their central office.
Aereon’s FieldMaster software integrates wireless technology into an existing infrastructure, creating a mobile network for service contractors and field service companies. Aereon will deploy Intermecâ 700 Series wireless mobile computers to its customers in industries such as HVAC, plumbing/electrical contracting, and construction so mobile workers can view customer and company records, receive and complete work orders and deliver real-time data back to the office.
The technology also allows remote field technicians to receive schedules, directions and customer histories, as well as submit completed invoices and respond more quickly to emergency situations. In addition to improving service in the field, the system automates internal processes, including equipment maintenance, payroll, invoicing, inventory control and supply chain management.
“Aereon addresses key business problems in the service industry with an application designed to boost technician productivity, improve project and billing accuracy and scheduling efficiency, while shortening billing cycles,” said Brian Beans, Intermec channel business manager. “Together, Intermec and Aereon offer a complete system that helps improve customer service, increase revenue and reduce errors.”
Service technicians also can use diagnostic tools connected to a data port in the Intermec 700 mobile computer to take readings on customer equipment so the information can be quickly stored in the handheld and sent to the central office for processing. When wireless service is not available in remote areas, technicians can use Aereon’s “store and forward” function, which allows them to complete invoices and transmit the data automatically when they reenter a coverage area – never losing the data.
