Intermec 700 Series Supports FieldMaster Pro - Mobile Enterprise

Verizon and Vodafone will develop a dual-branded laptop data card service for business customers working and traveling between Europe and the U.S. The data card will be based on Vodafone’s Mobile Connect Card, which Verizon will develop and market under license. The service will provide customers Internet access on their laptops within Vodafone and Verizon network territories. Both companies intend to cooperate on hardware design, service inter-connectivity, roaming and inter-operator billing.

Buffalo Technology, a wireless networking product vendor, has partnered with retailer CompUSA. CompUSA will now carry Buffalo’s 802.11g products such as wireless routers, wireless cards, bridge/ repeaters, indoor antennas and wireless USB adapters. Buffalo was one of the first vendors to provide certified 802.11g products.

Aereon has partnered with Intermec to enable the availability of Aereon’s FieldMaster Pro product for Intermec 700 Series mobile computers. FieldMaster Pro is an Internet-based service management system that automates such tasks as work order dispatch, job status notification, work order submission, job cost reporting, inventory and invoicing. FieldMaster Pro works with all versions of QuickBooks 2003.

MRO Software, an asset management software provider, and Telispark have entered a reseller agreement to offer mobility solutions. Customers of the joint solution will be able to remotely access data from multiple sources, including MRO Software’s asset management solution and MAXIMO to complete job tasks and streamline field operations including plant maintenance.

Itron and Power Delivery Associates (PDA) have reached a partnership agreement to develop an integrated product that embeds Itron’s distribution-line design tools for utilities in PDA’s Origin GIS product. The agreement also establishes Itron as the exclusive third-party agent for marketing and selling PDA’s Origin GIS software to North American electric, gas, water, wastewater and storm water utilities.

EmWare has partnered with Lantronix, integrating Lantronix’s UDS device servers with emWare’s DeviceView remote device management software. Both companies promise to deliver a complete, secure solution for remotely monitoring, managing and controlling virtually any type of networked device located anywhere in the world.

RIM and Oracle have announced the compatibility of RIM’s BlackBerry with Oracle’s new e-mail platform—Collaboration Suite. Oracle has chosen Consilient as the exclusive partner to provide the BlackBerry connectivity for Oracle Collaboration Suite. Access to Oracle Collaboration Suite with push e-mail is now available using any BlackBerry handheld and Consilient2 software.

Kabira Technologies has entered into a strategic partnership supporting Sun Microsystems’ Java Enterprise System. Kabira’s Infrastructure Switch software will provide Sun customers with a real-time transactional network services gateway that runs on a wide range of Sun hardware platforms.

Miner & Miner, a consulting engineering company, and CGI CYME recently announced an official business alliance. The alliance formalizes the agreement between the two companies to continue to provide electric utilities with the ability to access CYME’s network analysis software, CYMDIST, from within Miner & Miner’s GIS-based ArcFM Solution.

AppForge has partnered with Nokia and Palm to announce support for Nokia’s series 60 phones and for PalmSource 5. These two platforms are AppForge’s most requested device platforms.

Red Bull Technologies, a security solutions provider, and CipherOptics, a developer and manufacturer of information protection services, have formed a strategic partnership whereby Red Bull will sell, implement and support the CipherOptics Security Gateway applications.
